USERS – Old, young, disabled, blind, deaf. Deaf and blind, wheelchair bound, foreign visitors / students, tall people, short people, large and small people.

MATERIALS – wood, cast iron, stone, perforated metal sheet, plastic, fibreglass, compound materials, concrete, plastic coated metals, painted/treated wood.

SAFETY Obstructions ( bollards ) sharp edges, steps, tactile pavements, rises and falls, slopes etc.

 

Think about the use of colour.

Think about scale – the street lights in Beverley are a good example see the lights in Saturday Market.
